Canada’s first commercial spaceport publicly listed on NEO exchange
The proposed launch facility is based in Canso, Nova Scotia. Maritime Launch Services aims to launch global client satellites in low Earth orbit. Construction on the spaceport has not yet begun.

At 9:30 a.m. on April 27, 2022, Maritime Launch Services Inc. (MLSI) became the first publicly traded commercial spaceport company on the NEO Exchange.

Read the full press release via NEO here.

Space is hard, and funding those projects to get there is no walk in the park. Earlier this year MLSI was in discussions to merge with Ceres Acquisition Corp, a SPAC that would allow them to go public. Last year, similar discussions were held with Jaguar Financial Corporation, in which MLSI would complete a reverse takeover of Jaguar.

However things changed and as a result, MLSI debuted on NEO at a price of $0.18 per share.

While the proposed launch provider is now public, and recently received $10.5M in funding to begin construction on the spaceport, it is working through conditions set by the provincial government in 2019. Until those conditions are met, construction cannot begin.

Maritime Launch Services aims to launch their first rocket in 2023. Their original target was 2019.
